We are committed to providing every Student with the opportunity to use Information Technology effectively to further their academic studies, and equipping them with the necessary skills for their life in the future . ICT at John Kelly Girls Technology College is a very popular subject which has a track record of excellent results.  Pupils produce high quality work and can use ICT with independence in other curriculum subjects.

All students at Key Stage 3 have dedicated ICT lessons with our current year 9’s preparing for their SAT’s in ICT. At Key Stage 4 it is optional to take ICT, however the remaining students do the Key skills qualification to satisfy their ICT requirements.

Not only is ICT taught as a dedicated subject it is also incorporated in all the other curriculum areas. The ICT facilities at John Kelly provide students with a wide range of skills and help them to become more independent users of ICT. Many of our students go on to take ICT in the 6th form. All our ICT suites have the state of the art computers, projectors and equipment to ensure that both teaching and learning are an enjoyable part of the curriculum here at JKGTC.

The ICT facilities extend throughout the college and include three dedicated suites and also an Apple Mac Suite. All the machines have access to Microsoft's Office XP Pro & Publisher, high speed broadband Internet and E-Mail. Where required specialist curriculum based software. These ICT facilities are used extensively at all times, including before and after the college day.
